Who We Are

Our website is https://mendanize.com.

Comments

When you leave a comment on our site, we collect the information you enter in the comment form. This includes your name, email, and comment text. We also collect your IP location and browser user agent string to help detect and prevent spam.

Your email location creates an anonymous hash. This is a code that is sent to the Gravatar service. The service checks if you have a profile picture there. You can read the Gravatar privacy policy here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture will be publicly visible. This happens if you have one through Gravatar. It will be shown next to your comment.

Media Uploads

If you upload images to the website, avoid adding files that contain location data (like EXIF GPS info). Visitors can download these images and pull out any hidden location details from them.

Cookies

When you leave a comment, you can choose to save your name, email, location, and website in cookies. This makes it faster to comment next time — you won’t have to re-enter your details. These cookies last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we set a short-term cookie to check whether your browser accepts cookies. This cookie includes no personal information and disappears when you close your browser.

When you log in, we set several cookies to remember your login details and screen preferences. Login cookies last two days, and screen options cookies last one year. If you tick “Remember Me,” your login stays active for two weeks. Logging out removes the login cookies.

If you edit or publish a post, an extra cookie is saved in your browser. It holds no personal data — it just remembers the post ID you edited. This cookie expires after one day.

Embedded Content from Other Sites

Our articles include embedded content like videos, images, or posts from other websites. This embedded content works the same way as if you visited the other site directly. Those sites collect data about you. They use cookies and include third-party tracking. They can watch how you interact with their content, especially if you’re logged in to their site.

Who We Share Your Data With

If you ask for a password reset, we include your IP location in the reset email for security.

How Long Do We Keep Your Data

Comments and their metadata (like name, email, and date) are kept forever. This lets us automatically recognize and approve follow-up comments without sending them to moderation every time.

If you create an account on our site, and registration is available, we store your personal information. This data is stored in your user profile. You can view, edit, or remove your personal details anytime (except your username, which can’t be changed). Site administrators can also view and edit this information.

Your Rights Over Your Data

You can ask for a file with all the personal data we hold about you. This applies if you have an account on this site. This includes anything you have given us. You can also ask us to delete your personal data. This does not include data we must keep for legal, administrative, or security reasons.

Where Your Data Is Sent

We check visitor comments through an automated spam detection service.
